Spencer Pratt Has Heidi Montag Under His Thumb

SLIPPERY reality “star” Spencer Pratt continues to have a Svengali-like grip on surgically enhanced girlfriend Heidi Montag. Pratt, known best for feuding with Lauren Conrad on MTV’s “The Hills,” is now Montag’s manager. He not only produced her horrendous album, he shot the videos as well, to ensure he alone gets any money from the bottled blonde’s efforts. Pratt is also in talks with producers at a rival network for their own reality show centered on the couple’s lives - and Pratt is in charge. “I overheard them talking with the producer but he would not let [Montag] speak,” said a Page Six spy who saw the duo at Electronic Arts’ party for its video game “Burnout Paradise” at One Sunset in LA last Tuesday. “He was talking about opportunities for them and candidly milking every ounce of press at the expense of Heidi. Meanwhile, she looked out of it and stared at the ground while chewing on her gum and let her boyfriend do the speaking for both of them.” The couple then sat in a corner booth playing each other on the “Burnout Paradise” video game for two hours and sipped champagne.

Heidi Montag took a break from her struggling pop career to celebrate Valentine’s Day with on-again boyfriend Spencer Pratt.

The love-’em-or hate-’em couple spent the weekend frolicking – a la her “Higher” video – around Atlantic City at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.

The weekend was something of a prelude to Pratt and Montag’s getting back to business hyping Heidi’s much-mocked music career.

“When people hear what we have in the bank, it’s gonna blow their minds,” her manager-beau boasted. “Madonna, eat your heart out. Britney Spears, eat your heart out. I would say we have diamond records coming – they’re gonna sell 10-million plus.”

Despite the critical reception of her first single, Montag is set to record a follow-up next weekend.

Pratt, who directed “Higher,” said he’s handing over the reins to Paul “Coy” Allen, who helmed “Give it to Me” with Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Nelly Furtado. (Not to worry Pratt fans: He promised he’d also release his own alternate version.)

“We’re financing [the album] ourselves on a shoestring budget,” Pratt said. “It’s so organic. And this is just the warm-up. We’re just heating up the water in the bathtub. It’s gonna get hot!”

Hot Weekend

As for their hot weekend at the Borgata, the couple arrived Friday night, in time for a decadent dinner at the Bobby Flay Steakhouse, followed by a Matchbox 20 concert – at which the two spent much of the show with their arms around each other.

The following day, they hit the hotel spa for a couple’s massage, shopped at the Whim boutique and made an appearance at club Mur.Mur.

“How do we keep romance alive?” Pratt mused to PEOPLE. “Our lives are romantic all day long. With us, it’s 24/7, always trying to keep each other happy. [This is] just another weekend to us. Every day is Valentine’s Day in our relationship.”

Montag reveals, “The driver of our boat crashed into three other boats… I was so scared… I was, like, ‘What kind of boat are we on?’ “I thought we were about to sink… I think that he (the captain) hadn’t sailed in a little bit.” But the most romantic day of the year ended in style. Boyfriend Pratt treated Montag to a meal at top Los Angeles restaurant La Scala.

Heidi Montag Goes Solo

Doing her best debutante impression, Heidi Montag visited the bank in Pacific Palisades yesterday. And from the looks of her dark sunglasses and black scarf, this girl is in mourning.

It’s official: Heidi has dumped Spencer Pratt. The Hills lovers have announced that they’ve broken off their engagement. And despite speculation that it’s all just a publicity stunt, they maintain it’s for real.
And Pratt is taking the news pretty hard. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, Spencer said, “In my mind I’m not moving on or looking for dates. I don’t know where Heidi is, I know she needs her space, but I don’t want to get back to my bachelor days. Heidi is the most perfect girl on the planet.”
